Cosmetic Acupuncture Consultation

A consultation is required before starting any acupuncture treatments. During this time the practitioner will take a short medical history, assess your skin and discuss a suitable treatment plan to address your concerns. Your consultation can be booked on its own or immediately before your first appointment.

FACIAL REJUVENATION

Ideal for targeting any facial concerns, including fine wrinkles, skin sagging, discolouration and poor skin quality. Treatment starts with cleansing of your skin and a specialized Chinese facial massage, followed by acupuncture needling of face and body points. The treatment aims to correct the underlying causes of your skin concerns while encouraging circulation and drainage to the face, boosting collagen growth in order to ‘fill in’ wrinkles naturally and improving skin texture and colour. A minimum of 10 treatments are recommended.

CELLULITE REDUCTION

A natural way to improve the appearance of ‘dimpled skin’ on thighs and buttocks. Treatment involves local and body needling to correct the underlying causes of cellulite and promote drainage to the area, followed by a Chinese cupping massage with our herb infused cellulite oil to break down fatty tissue. A minimum of 10 treatments are recommended for long lasting results.

COURSE OF MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS

Microneedling (dermaroller) Treatments are becoming increasing popular as they give similar results to dermabrasion, laser resurfacing and peels – without the pain and downtime. At Mi:skn we take a holistic and non-invasive approach to microneedling, combining our knowledge of Chinese Cosmetic Medicine with the scientifically proven technology of our high quality Medik8 dermarollers. Microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production and improves circulation of blood and Qi to the face. Microneedling works effectively to 'plump' the skin, reduce fine lines, improve acne scarring and reduce discolouration or pigmentation. It can also be very effective for hair loss, scarring and stretch marks. Skin will improve after your first session, but we recommend long term home use and three monthly Clinic treatments for best results.

Each one hour Clinic treatment starts with thorough cleansing and your microneedling session. This is followed by Chinese facial massage using our serum, a soothing jade roller massage and we finish with a therapeutic Chinese herbal mask.

Naturopathic Skin Consultation

A Naturopathic Skin Consultation is highly recommended for anyone suffering from acne, rosacea or problem skin, where internal factors are often the cause of the skin concerns. Naturopathy is also beneficial for discovering hormonal imbalances and the effects of anti-oxidant levels on the ageing process of your skin.
All Naturopathic Skin Consultations include Hemaview Screening, dietary and lifestyle advice, requesting of salivary hormone and blood tests, skincare advice and prescription of natural medicines
as required.

Hemaview Live Blood Screening

Mi:skn Clinic offer free Hemaview Screening with every Naturopathic Skin Consultation. Based on the medical science of haematology, Hemaview is a form of live blood screening which is a very useful clinical tool used to assess your current health status. Using only 1-2 drops of blood under microscopic magnification, this screening allows analysis and assessment of markers that can be indicative of inflammation, poor immune function, nutritional deficiencies, oxidative stress and liver stress. The health of your blood gives our practitioner valuable insight into causative factors in premature ageing and inflammatory skin conditions such as acne. A Hemaview Screening is included in your initial Naturopathic Skin Consultation and in Follow-Up Consultations when needed, visually see the changes in your blood as your health improves.
