Our clinic founder, Francesca Perino, is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She has a special interest in inflammatory skin disorders and is one of the only TCM practitioners in Australia who's practice focusses solely on skin and skin health.

Mi Skn Clinic started as a one-practitioner clinic offering Cosmetic or Aesthetic Acupuncture. Now a holistic multidisciplinary skin-focussed practice, Francesca offers Cosmetic Acupuncture to clients who want to explore TCM as a way of managing skin aging while rebalancing the body as a whole. What to expect from Cosmetic Acupuncture?
We always start with an initial skin consultation to assess your skin, general health and skin goals. Each treatment will include Acupuncture to the body and face, to rebalance your Qi (energy), improve circulation, and lymphatic drainage and tone or relax facial muscles. Using hair-thin Japanese Acupuncture needles the treatment is usually pain-free, the needles are retained for 20-30 minutes while you meditate or relax in a comfortable room. Once the needles are removed, Francesca will cleanse your skin, apply a suitable facial massage oil and perform a Gua Sha massage to the face and neck. We finish the treatment with skincare and a glass of water!

What to expect from Skin Health Acupuncture?
This is a more traditional Acupuncture treatment format. Francesca will start by analysing your pulse in the TCM way. She will then choose body acupuncture points suitable for your health and your skin condition. Acupuncture needles are inserted in the limbs and sometimes chest or abdomen, and retained for 20-30 minutes. We may add Healite Treatment (LED light therapy) to the body or face during this time to boost our skin healing. Once needles are removed you will be offered a glass of water and asked to make your way back to reception.
